Strike on German railroads may affect the timeliness of rail transportation from China to Europe.

On January 8, local time, a demonstration by German farmers protesting the government’s removal of diesel tax concessions led to nationwide chaos. German railroads and other industries have subsequently announced a series of national strikes. In the coming days, freight transportation across Germany may face disruptions, and we urge freight forwarders delivering to Germany to be attentive to potential logistics delays.

For shipments from China to Germany via railroad transit carrying European goods, delays may also occur. Please be aware of the current European sea freight time and prices.

The Red Sea issue has caused freight rates to rise, but recently there has been a downward trend in ocean freight rates from China to Europe’s basic ports, from a high of more than $6,000 to a price of just over $5,000 in mid-January.
